Hello everyone! This week has been an awesomely crazy week, I guess I will start from the beginning, I got to start totrain my new companion, his name is Elder Hulme, (it rhymes with fume) He is from Prove Utah, it has been a fun experience to train him, and I feel really humbled for this oppurtunity, his spanish isn`t very good, but he works really hard and has really progressed in the week that we have been able to work together.

Well, I guess I will just start off to say that one things that was really crazy was this week it rained like I have never before seen in my life, it rained so much, like noah`s ark, my companion and I were dying in the rain, everything was soaked, including our scriptures…. My bible is a little bit ruined, but I can still read it, so I guess I shouldn`t complain, but seriously, out of the jmiddle of nowhere, it started to rain cats and dogs, and when I say cats and dogs, I mean lions and wolves, it was crazy! Also, this week, we had an experience that was pretty awesome, I will tell the story like this:

Okay, so it was Saturday night, my companion and I were tired, it was 7:55 PM we still had some time to do some visits, and all of out other appointments fell through, so we didn’t know what to do, then out of the middle of nowhere, I felt the prompting that my companion and I should visit a less active family, who haven`t been in their house the past 50 times that we have checked, So we deciced to go, at first I was like, they probably wont be there, but then the prompting came again, and I knew that I couldn`t deny it, so we went, and we found a less active family, we started teaching them,a nd when they saw my name, they almost had a heart attack, 12 years ago, this family was baptized, by a missionary called Elder Limb, it was pretty interesting, they showed me his photo, and they told me that he looks a lot like me, so he`s probably a long lost relative, but anyways, we started teaching them the atonement, and my companion in his broken Spanish started testifying about how families can be eternal if we apply the atonement, and they starte d listening really attenly, it was pretty powerful, even though the Spanish of my companion isn`t very good, the spirit helped them to understand, and after that I started testifying of the atonement, that they can change, and renew their baptisimal covenant, and the spirit was so astrong, I know that I was sent to this mission for a reason, and now I know a little bit more of the reasons why I am here, after the lessons, both of the less active mothers asked us for a blessing of comfort and counsel, and it was a powerful experience to give these blessings, I really felt the the atonement will work in their lives, they know that they have to change and they are going to do it, also they told us that they have between the two of them 3 kids that need to be baptized, and one of the husbands of the sisters is not a member and also one fo them has two sons who could be ready to go on a mission really soon, one is 20 years old, the other 17 years old, so we are going to work with them, and I am so glad that I listened to that prompting to go and teach them because now we are going to work with them closely and they will be able to progress faster, I will let you know how that all goes soon,

And yeah, that was the highlight of the week, also to see the members praying for my companion to learn Spanish, has been pretty powerful, I kno w that the gift of tongues is real, I have seen it here in this area, in my mission and now in the mission of my companion, he is improveing everyday his Spanish, and I know we will work miracles in the name of the lord, well, that`s about all for this week, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, Hasta luego, les amo, Elder Limb

Hola everyone, another week has passed by, this week was filled with well, with good things, I`l lgive a brief summary of the happenings of this week. WEll, I`ll start off with one experience, that happened with a less active family. Here is what happended. WE were teachi9ng them about the importance of the atonement, and they really liked the lesson, but they still didn`t feel the desire to go to church this sunday, but what happened was that the father of the family wanted to say something else important, we were about to finish, and he said to his family somethign like this: The atonement has another essential part, the sacrament, that is why we go tot church sundays" it was pretty cool, he hadn`t gone to church in like 5 months, but still knew of teh importance of teh SAcrament and the atonement, we are going to continue to work with this family.

Another experience that happened yesterday, which was also with a less active member named David, DAvid hasnt gone to church ina long time, but we are working with him, and we read the scripture in Mosiah chapter 3

7 And lo, he shall asuffer btemptations, and pain of body, chunger, thirst, and fatigue, even more than man can dsuffer, except it be unto death; for behold, eblood cometh from every pore, so great shall be his fanguish for the wickedness and the abominations of his people.

And he told us that he had had problems in the week, but that his problems haven`t even caused him a bloody nose, we all laughed when he said this, but it`s true, our problems sometimes don`t even give us a bloody nose, so when we think to complain, we have to remember that Jesus Christ our savior already suffered everything for us, I learned a lot that day.

One more thing that was pretty cool that I learned, was in SAcrament meeting, I received revelation, it was pretty cool. A member who was less active before and who had never before given a talk in SAcrament meeting was giving the talk, and I don`t remember what his theme was, but he said something that was pretty cool, that really helped me that day, he said:

"Answers to our questions come in two forms, direct revelation from God, or through experiences."

I thought about it, and he is right, sometimes we are waiting for a voice, or something like that, but another way that revelation comes is through the experiences that we have, experiences help us to learn and grow. It was a good week. I learned a lot, well, that`s all for this week, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers,

Well, this week has been pretty good, we taught like 14 lessons I think, and i got to go on divisions with another Elder, I went to work with him in his area for a day, the name of that area is Fovissste. It was pretty fun, we taught some pretty powerful lessons, and one of the experiences that was pretty awesome was that we were teaching an investigator about how she needed to pray, and at first she didnt want to do it, but, then she decided to do it, and it was powerful prayer, she was crying and knew that she was communicating with her heavenly father, she expressed some of the problems that she needs help with in her prayers, and we testified that heavenly father will help her with those problems. In the mission, that has definitely been one of my favorite things, seeing somebody pray for the first time, it just makes me think how grateful we should be for prayer, a lot of times, I know I`m guilty of this, we just say our prayers out of habit, but really, I learned that each time is special, like how it is for investigators praying for the first time, when they really understand what they are doing, they feel the spirt, and it should be the same with us, it was a cool experience Remember the power and gift of prayers

Hola everybody!! This week has been awesome, want to know why?

The answer is general conference, general conference was awesome, it was such a blessing to listen to a prophet and to hear his counsel and to listen to the apostles and the leaders of the church, I know that I learned a lot and I hope that you learned a lot too.

This week, I had an experience that strengthened my testimony in the importance of scripture mastery. I am now glad that I put to memory these scriptures, because they came to my mind in an instant and I was able to share them with an investigator to answer his questions. the investigar was someone that we contacted a week ago, and we just had the appointment with him Friday. he read the pamphlet on the restoration and had a lot of doubts about how it was possible that Joseph Smith saw god and Jesus Christ and that they were in the form of men, because he thought that they were infinitely in physical form or something like that, so I sat there listening to him, and what came to my mind was a scripture mastery scripture, Genesis 1:26-27, which basically says that God created man in his image. This helped him a little bit, but he still had some doubts, he asked how it was possible for man to see god, because he said "Noah, Abraham, and all the other prophets of the old testament never saw god, so why Joseph smith" Then, another scripture mastery came to my mind Exodus 33:11 when it says that God spoke with Moses, face to face, I explained that what happened to Moses happened to Joseph smith as well, and told himi that it was the same thing as a conversation, like the lesson we were having with him in that moment. He said that we answered his question and that he didn`t have doubts about that anymore, but......that`snot the end of the story, we kept on teaching him, and we got to the part of the book of mormon, and who would have guessed it, but we showed him another scripture mastery scripture, Moroni 10:3-5, and he loved it so much! He told us that that was something that he had never thougth of before, that he could know the truth for himself, and not just because a missionary tells him, or a preacher, or anyone else, he is so excited to learn more, we will see him this friday, unfortunately, he was unable to come to general conference, but he told us he would watch it online. And yeah, that is the story, I know that scripture mastery scriptures are inspired, study them, they will help you, I`m glad I put those scriptures to my memory, because I needed them, and the Holy Ghost helped me to remember the location of these passages of Scripture when I needed them, it was pretty cool.

The conference was the best thing ever, we had 4 investigators there with us, and they loved it, I`m really hoping that we will be able to put a baptisimal date4 with them and help them to be baptized, I`ll let you know how it goes. Things are looking good here in Reforma, time is flying by, this week, I completed 9 months in the mission! I can`t believe it, but I am working on enjoying every second of the mission, even the trials and tribulations, because I have had those, but I have learned so much and my testimony has been strengthened, I love being a missionary, I know the church is true, i know that President Thomas S Monson is a prophet of God and that he leads and guides the church today, and most importantly, I know that Jesus Christ lives, and that he is my savior, I felt a witness of this testimony in the conference, and I hope that you guys felt that as well, reread and study the conference talks, do all you can to apply these teachings, this is my testimony that I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Hasta Luego, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, it really means a lot to me, I`m thankful for each and every one of you in my life, and the example that you show me. Gracias, I hope to hear from you soon. Happy week this week :)

Hello everyone!

This week, was pretty awesome, in sacrament meeting there were 3 confirmations, I had the privelage to confirm Juanita a member of the church, it was pretty awesome!! Also, me and my new com panion are working really hard, there have been lots of miracles tha we have seen this week when we have been in the right place at the right time, to contact someone right when they were about to leave, it has been pretty awesome.

Also this week, we visited a less active member he is so excited to listen to us and to learn more about the gospel, and english(I´m teaching him english using the gospel, it´s pretty awesome) his name is RAul, and he really likes the church, it´s just a little difficult sometimes because he lives with his dad, and his dad is less active, but doesnt want to go, so it´s tough, but we´re working with him,. and he really wants to serve a mission, he is 20 years old, so we´re working with him.

I also learned what a big difference a new companion can make, me and my new companion are working together, with my other companion we didn´t really work together, we just worked seperately, together haha, but this time we are working together together, and it ismaking a big difference, the people are noticing and they are excited to listen to the word.

Also, this sunday, my companion and I had the oppurtunity to talk in Sacrament meeting, it was pretty great, I really felt the spirt preparing my talk, and some members told me it was great talk, I talked about how we can explain the feelings of the spirt to others who haven´t experienced the spirit before, and also about how sweet the gospel is, like a mango, and that we have to share it, it was a good talk, and things went pretty good.

I´m so excited for conference, and I hope that you guys are also, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, I am ready to keep working hard, thanks , hasta luego,

Well, another week has passed by, and this week, was filled with water(three baptisms haha) it was awesome. The names of the people baptized were Juanita, with juanita, it was a miracle, she has so much faith, evern though now her exhusband isn´t going to give her money because she was baprized, she has faith that it will al lwork out, that the Lord will provide a way for her to have money and ot keep paying tithing, she is the older lady in the photo, and she is so excited to be a member of the church.

The younger lady is Karina, her twin sister was baptized a year ago, the first day when I arrived here in the area of REforma, she sent us a message to work with her, she was showing her faith, and so we worked with her, and she said that she has seen so many other missionaries but has never felt the need to be baptized like her sister, but now she does, and she was baptized, by me, it was a privelage and even though the water was cold, the spirit was warm.

The little boy is Josué, his family are all members, and he should have been baptized when he was 8, but his family was inactive, so we reactivated him, and his brother was able to baptize him, he is 9 years old. Also, this week, we saw a member less active,, his name is RAul, he hasn´t gone to church in two years, so we met with him, and after one visit, he decided to come to church, and I could see a change in his appearance, he really is ready to move forward in the gospel, he is 20 years old, and although he has to make some changes, it would be really cool if he could go on a mission.

My new companion is Elder Escamilla, I will meet him tomorrow, my companion that I have now, Elder Escobedo, will actually be going to my old area, Nativitas, so I´m excited for him, this month has gone by so fast, i can´t believe how fast it has gone by. There is a lot of work to do here in REforma, this ward has a lot of less active members, but they are our brothers and sisters, we are all children of God, so we are working with them to help them to return back to the church and participate in the blessings of the Sacrament.

And yeah, I am so excited for General conference in 2 weeks, what a grand oppurtunity and privelage it is to hear a prophet of God speak, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, I hope everything back home is going well, I love being a missionary, and I have a lot that I have to learn and improve, but this week, is going to be great. Thanks for everything, hasta luego, until next week,

Elder Limb- a.k.a the dominator, me and my new companion are going to dominate this next transfer, look forward to some miracles in the next coming weeks, I´m ready to work, and the field is white and ready to harvest. that´s all.

One more week is in the books, this week was pretty good, I have learned a lot this week, and I am excited to progress the work in the area of REforma. This week, I will give a day by day update on how it went since the last time I wrote, starting with Tuesday

Tuesday February 26, today I had intercambios or exchanges with my district leader, we went on some visits and it was cool, because we were with a member, and we checked the first house of our appointment, and she wasn´t home, so this member told us to check another, and another, and another, and another, then we finally found someone to teach with this member, she showed me an example of dilligence, never give up, Heavenly FAther will help us to find people to share the gospel with.

WEdnesday FEbruary 27, today was the district meeting, and I learned more about working with members and stuff, and how to find new investigator sto teach, nothing very significant happend today

Thursday FEbruary 28 Today, we walked alot, but found some less active members to teach, and we visited Karina, who will be baptized MArch 17th, it was exciting to see her progress and to hear her offer her prayer, because I could feel that she is so excited to be baptized and to accept the gospel, she has rfeally changed her life, and I know that the gospel can change the lives of everyone who listens to it and applies it in their lives

Friday MArch 1, exactly one year ago, I received my mission call(feb29 2012) time has flown by, and I almost will complete 8 months in the mission.

SAturday, MArch 2, today, I had the oppurtunity to give a blessing to an investigator, who wants to be baptized, but has to get married first, she is living with her "partner" and they are not married, but he is a less active member, and they are going to be married the end of this month, it was an awesome oppurtunity to feel the power of the priesthood in action, because I could feel it when I was giving her the blessing, she had the faith to ask for one, and is excited to continue to learn more and to prepare to be baptized after she is married with her "partner"

Sunday, MArch 3, today was a greaty Sunday, our 3 investigators who will be baptized MArch 17th, were all in the church, Juanita, Karina, and Josue, they are all so excited to be baptized, and things are going great with them, it is so cool to see their progress.

Well, that is about all for this week, I am excited to keep working hard, and I hope to be able to see more miracles here in the area of REforma, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, that is all,

Hasta Luego, Elder Limb

Monday, February 25, 2013

hello everyone, another week, another update in the life and mission of Elder Daniel Limb. WEll, this week, some pretty significant things have happened, the Lord is accelerating the work, and has created new missions, this means that my mission will be divided to form the mexico city, mexico, chalco mission, so I might be transferred into that mission, I will let you know when I know. Also, I love my new area, it is an area called REforma, and there is a lot of work here to do,

I have my first mexican companion, and we are working hard, this week, we were able to put two baptisimal dates for 17th of MArch! ONe of the investigators is Karina, it was so cool teaching her, because she has already listened to the missionaries in the past, her sister was baptized one year ago, but she told me and my companion that after the second lesson, she felt like she had known us for a lot more time, she felt the spirit so strong, and told us the she wants to be baptized, it was a lesson where the spirit was so strong, and it is a testimony to me, that the Lord has put me and my companion(Elder Escobedo) in this area of Reforma in this moment, because the Lord is preparing people to be taught and to accept the gospel, I am so excited for March 17th!

Also, this week I had a pretty cool experience as well, my companion and I went to eat with a member, but the member wasn´t home, so we went back to our apartment to look for something to eat, when we were walking back, a lady stopped us and said that she has been looking for some spiritual strength, and that she hasn´t been able to find it in her church, so she wanted to talk to us, because she alwasy sees us passing by, it was just a matter of time until she was prepared to have the courage to talk to us, we will be working with her this coming week, I hope that she continues to have the same interest and keeps progressing to the truth.

Also, the members in the ward of REforma are pretty great, they help me to feel welcome in my new ward where I am serving, it´s different being in a new area, but I know that it is where the Lord wants me to be, so i am excited to keep working and doing what the Lord wants me to do.

Another investigator, Juanita, will also be baptized 17th of MArch, she had been praying to find the truth, and then one day, the other missionaries of another area, contacted her and passed her information to us here, and we are working with her, and she is so ready to be baptized, she has so much faith, and has told us more than once that she already knows that this is the true church, because she can feel a feeling here that she can´t feel in any other place, and I know it is true, the Lord is advancing his work, and I am grateful for the chance to be a part of it. The book of mormon is awesome, and this week, a scripture that has given me a lot of help´(and helpto my investigators and less active members) is Moroni 7:33 I invite all of you to read and ponder this scripture, the work of the lOrd, baptisms, reactivation is expedient, and it will move forward, if we have faith, we will receive the power, this is my invitation to all of you, that you increase your faith theat the Lord is preparing people with whom to share the gospel, I have seen it here in my mission and i know it is true in every part of the world, thanks for keeping my in your thoughts and prayers,, I will give another update next week of how the work is going here in REforma, thanks again, Elder Limb, signing out..... Hasta luego

Friday, February 15, 2013

Another week is in the books of the missionary life of Elder Limb, and this week, there are some good reports that are about to come your way.

This week, we have continued to work with Carlos and his mom, and his son, and things are going really great. One thing that Carlos has told us is that the gospel has brought him closer to his mom, before they never really talked, even though they live in the same house, but because of the gospel, they are t+now talking, and Carlos is sharing the gospel with his mom who is 87 years old, and she is accepting the teaching very well, it´s just a little bit complicated to bring her to church because she is so old, and can´t get out of her house very easily, but I have faith that everything will work out for the good.

This week, my companion and I taught like 31 lessons, it was a busy week. One of the cool experiences I had this week was when we went to the estetica(barbershop) where we can get our hair cut for free to talk with the member who owns the place, and we had a great lesson about the atonement and the importance of the gospel, and my testimony was strengthened because of what she told me. She told me that she knows missionaries are called of God because she has been able to see my progress, how I have learned spanish so fast and how I have learned how to teach the gospel, it was a testimony strengthener to me, I know that I have been called of God and that I have the help of God as I am righteous and as I am humble, thanks to Heavenly FAther, I have been able to learn spanish fast and to learn how to teach as well. It was awesome, her testimony was also strengthened, and she wants to go to church every week and learn more about the gospel.

Oh yeah, this week, I experience half of a bible bash, we were walking and there was a Christian who wanted to come and talk about why the book of mormon wasn´t true with us, he was reading a lot of bible scriptures and saying a lot of things, attacking the beliefs of the church, at first I wanted to show him scriptures in the bible and bible bash back, but then I felt that I shouldn´t, so I just bore my testimony that I know the book of mormon is true and that Joseph Smith restored the gospel, I learned a lot, it isn´t worth our time as missionaries to go around fighting about the bible and stuff, but rather to just share testimony and invite others to find out for themselves, for this reason, it was only half of a bible bash, this man wanted to bible bash with us, but I knew it would be a waste of time for both of us, so I didn´t do it, and I am glad I didn´t.. Then we got to teach one of my converts Rocio, she was in the hospital for like 2 months and has now returned back to church, and I am so glad, her testimony is still strong and it always strengthens my testimony to see her desire to learn more about the gospel and about the church.

And this week, I have had the oppurtunity to eat plenty of mangos, mangos are the best food on earth, they taste so good! And there are so many here in MExico, and they are cheap, it doesn´t get better than that. Also, we had a pretty cool experience this week with putting in practice the principles that are found in preach my gospel, we were studying this week as a companionship how to find new investigators, and we found that one of the things that it suggests is that we talk with old investigators who have stopped investigating the church for one reason or another, it also said that sometimes the reasons why investigators stop to investigate the church is because missionaries have changes and the new missiories don´t go to visit that person, we found this to be true, we passed by asome old investigators and asked them why the missionaries stopped going to visit her, and she told us that it was because the missionaries had changes, yup, it was awesome, and now we have an appointment with her, well that´s all for this week. Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. Love, Elder Daniel Limb

Monday, February 4, 2013

This week, was.......awesome. Want to knowwhy? It was because this week, my companion and I had the blessing and oppurtunity to go to a devotional in the mtc by the temple of mexico city, and, not only was it cool to be theere, but also, there was Elder Russel m. Nelson of the quorum of the 12 apostoles who came and talked to all the mexico city missions, it was an experience I will never forger, being in the same room as an apostle, it was like the coolest thing that I have ever felt, just knowing that he is an apostle and that I had the oppurtunity to listen to him is awesome, and it increased my testimony, and helped me to understand more about who I really am, he talkedabout how the missionaries have been called to fullfill with an eternal purpose, and that the Lord will help us, it was awesome experience. Also, something pretty cool, in the ward where I am serving, there is a member, and she is 93 years old! She comes to church everyweek, and that ispretty awesome for me, definitely an example to follow. Oh yeah, one thing that is cool about mexico, is that there is this cheese, in spanish it is called Queso Oaxaca, It is like string cheese, but like 1000 times better, It is so good, a member gave us like 1 pound of it to eat, I´m excited to eat more now haha

One other cool spiritual experience this week that happened, that strengthened my testimony to help me know that the Lord really does put people in the path of the missionaries to serve. This week, one day we were walking from a cancelled appointment, and we were going to visit some more less active members, and when we were walking, a young lady started yelling"elders, elders" when someone yells elders in mexico, you automatically turn your ears with excitement, but she came and told us that she needed someome to give her a blessing, so my companion and I gave her a blessing, and she told us that the stuff that my companion said(he gave the blessing) was exactly what she needed to hear, and the spirit was so strong there, and I knowthat that appointment got cancelled for a reason, it was so that we could give that blessing to this member of the church who needed that guidance and counsel that can come through means of the priesthood.

Also, I ate lentil soup here the other day, and I like itmore here, in spanish it is called "Lentejas" it tastes better haha, I lovethe food here, Well, thanks for your thoughts and prayers, I love youall, and that´s all for this week, I´ve got to go, thanks again, Love, Elder Daniel Limb

Monday, January 28, 2013

To start off, I just want ot say, that this week, we had the best lesson with Carlos Rios, his testimony is so strong, and I have learned so much from him, especially about how to live the gospel. he told us a little bit more about the story of why he chose to contact us after we contacted the bus, that day. He told us that he had been living life, without real purpose, and that he heard some scholar say that the thing he has to do is live the gospel, he ignored this saying. The second time, he heard it again, from the library or something like that, that says that what he should do is return to the true gospel, so he was thingking about it, but he didn´t do it. Then, we came around and said that the gospel had been restored, he got excited, and this time, the 3rd time, he knew he couldn´t ignore the message, and he decided to embrace the gospel 100% and now, he is amember, this is my testimony that the Lord really is preparing people for the missionaries to teach, he cares about his children, and we as members have the chance ot bring the gospel to all, it was pretty awesome.

Also, this week, I had the oppurtunity to give a blessing to a member whose daughter is having some problems, the mom needed some comfort, and she asked us for a blessing, it is such a great feeling to serve in the priesthood, to help others to feel the power of God, and I testify that the priesthood is real, that it is the power of god, and that it an bring comfort and healing. And, to give another report on the food of Mexico, this week, I ate "alambre" it is so good! It is like meat with onions and peppers, and it tastes so good, you put it on tortillas and it will work wonders in your tummy! It tastes pretty much delicious, I love the food here, especially the jello, it is pretty freaking awesome.

Also, something pretty cool, was that a less active member who hadn´t been to church in 30 years went to church this sunday, it wa s amiracle, and I was glad to have been able to help here to remember the covenants that she has already made, this member is very nice, she gave us cheescake, and it was delicious! But way more important than the cheesecake, is that she was at church, in the chapel, to be able to partake of the SAcrament, also, this week, I had exchanges with anothe rElder, I was in another area for a day, and that was pretty cool, we taught some good lessons, and I got to eat pretty good this day as well. And yeah, that is basically the highlights of the week, I´ll send some more stuff next week, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, Love, Elder Limb

P.S. this week, I had the chance to go to the temple grounds with my companion because there is church doctor there, andhe had to go, it is pretty cool, I love the temple.. Oh yeah, I´m gonna send some photos

Hello Everybody, today, January 21, 2012, is my 200th day in the mission, and wow how time flies by, but I love it. to start off, I would like to explain what I got to do this day, my pday, today, I had the oppurtunity to go downtown, and wow, it is huge!!!! Like literally 8 times larger than Salt Lake City downtown, I also got to go to a museum of mummies, that was pretty cool, it is pretty cool in downtown mexico, it´s definitely one of a kind of a place, but it´s pretty awesome.

And, we have one investigator with a date for baptism, the son of Carlos, Rodrigo, is so excited about lerarning the gospel, and we already have a date for his baptism. I´m pretty excited, I hope that everything will be good with that baptism. And, this week, I had the oppurtunity to teach Carlos Rios again, it was so cool! He is so interested in studying the gospel, and he is already giving us suggestions to improve the missionary work here in Nativtas, I´m pretty excited for him. He is reading every day, and studying like crazy, he is pretty much like one of the smartest people I have ever met, he understands Einstein, and now, he is beginning to understand the gospel, and that is even more awesome, I´m excited to see his process, for that reason, i wouldn´t mind being here in Nativitas another six weeks, but we´ll see what happens when there are changes. Also, more information on Carlos Rios, we are still teaching his mom, and she is 87 years old, but can´t see very well, so she has been listening to the book of mormon on CD and she remembers everything perfectly! She can´t go to church though because it is too cold in the morning for her to leave, she wants to be baptized, but we have to wait until MArch or April, when she can leave easier, but still, I really hope that her health will permit her to be baptized and go to church, because she is pretty much awesome. Also, there is really cool experience that I had that i want to tell you guys real quick, Here it comes.

So, my companion and I needed to hurry to get to an appointment, because we were in another appointment longer than expected, so we decided to take a micr(a small bus) which normall costs 8 pesos for both of us, so we were waiting for the bus, it came, we signaled it that we wanted to ride, and it came, and we got on, and I tried to pay, but the driver wouldn´t let me, my companion couldn´t pay either, and I´m pretty sure it was because he saw the name of Jesus Christ on our nametags, because he was listing to spanish christian rock music about how Jesus Christ is our Savior and stuff, so I´m pretty sure he didn´t make us pay because of that, it was pretty awesome, Its so cool to me how even nonmembers of the church can still recognize what missionaries represent, to me that is a testimony to the importance and the truth of this work that I have a blessing to be apart of, it´s pretty much, fantastic!. And yeah, that´s about all for this week, thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers, Love you all! Love, Elder Daniel Limb

One more week has come and gone, wow how time flies by, but the work is progressing here in Nativitas,

This week, I would like to share an experience that we had with a less active member, named Francisco, he was baptized almost a year ago, but stopped goign to church, we have tried to find him for like 3 months, and we finally found him. But here is what is cool, we checked his house at like 1200 noon, and he wasn´t there, so we continued the day like normal, then, we were around his house again, heading to visit another investigator, when me and my companion had the thought to visit Francisco again, we checked and he was there! WE had a lesson about the atonement, and he told us that he wanted to experience the blessings of the atonement in his life, and he told us he was going to go to church the next day, this was Saturday, and...... he was there! And more than that, he is like the nicest person I have ever met, today, our p day, Francisco took us to go bowling, and I had a turkey! It was fun, but even better than this, is that Francisco is now returning to the church, and just helping him has been such an awesome experience.

Also, this week, my companion and I had the oppurtunity to talk in Sacrament meeting, that was pretty cool, it was sawesome, I wasn´t given a topic, but I decided to talk on testimony, and it actually went really well, it was a good talk, I think, and i learned so much while I was preparing my talk. Also, this week, we had a lesson with the mom of Carlos, she is 87 years old! And she has the book of mormon on CD and she loves to listen to it, it is amazing to see that the gospel is for everyone, the only thing that is a problem, is that is difficult to get her to go to the church, because she is old, and can´t move around much. Also, CArlos´s son Rodrigo, is still interested in learning more and we are still teaching him in english. The work is progressing, and although I am still in the same area, I am ready to work hard and bring other souls unto Christ, things are going good. WEll, I don´t have much time to write this week, but next week, i will write more, thanks for your love and support and your prayers, adios, nos vemos la proxima semana, Elder Limb

Well, another week has passed by, and this week, I completed exactly 6 months in the mission! Time has flown by so fast, I can`t even believe it, but I have loved every moment that I have had to serve the Lord and to share my testimony and to do what I know how to do, to serve and testify.

This week, one of the best days of my life happened, it was the baptism of Carlos. The man who I contacted in the micro, everything started with one word, "gospel" he was interested to know what is the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he loves to study, he was so excited to receive his bible that we gave him to study after his baptism, and it was just such an awesome experience. the spirit testified to me, that Carlos had been forgiven of his past sins and transgressions, and that he had entered into the covenant of baptism, the feelings I felt there were so strong, words can`t even describe them. We are still teaching the son of Carlos, in english, and he has a date to be baptized, but we still have to teach him the word of wisdom and things like that, but I`m excited.

Well, it is now a new transfer, I will still be in the same area(Nativitas) with the same companion Elder Gerlach, things are still going good, but I still haven`t had a mexican companion to help me to improve my spanish and to help me learn more about the culture. Well, this week in mexico, there was quite a significant holiday. It is called " Reyes Magos" and it has something to do with the wisemen who visited jesus when he was born, but basically it is kind of like Christmas. What happens is all of the kids who want presents from the REyes Magos put their name and address and a list of gifts that they want to receive on a piece of paper, they then roll it up, and tie it to a balloon and send it to the "Reyes MAgos" it`s pretty cool, it`s kind of like a second christmas, there were a lot of balloons this week because of this.

Another part that is essential to baptism is conversion, and that is exactly what happened to Carlos on Sunday, he received the gift of the holy ghost, and I have never seen anybody more happy in all the world then Carlos after he received that gift, and he told me something that will always stay with me forever, that impacted me a lot, he told me that: When someone is living the gospel of Jesus Christ, all things are possible that are right." And oh how right he is, he told me that the only reason why he wanted to learn more was because of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and because he witnessed the blessings of two american missionaries from Utah living the gospel, and he wanted to have that for himself, and now he has it, he is just so awesome! I have learned so much from him. also, this week, we had a lesson with an hermana who hadn`t gone to church in 30 years! 30 years! She told us it was because she can`t pay tithing or something like that, but what she said really impacted me, she told us that she always accepts the missionaries because she`s afraid that if she doesn`t that one day god won`t give her all the blessings that she wants, but that she still wont go to church. She told us that she would start to read the book of mormon, and this experience caused me to think of the power and authority of a missionary, not to say anything to brag or make myself look better than anyone, because I know that I am just a missionary, just a 19 year old teenager, living the gospel of Jesus Christ, but when I thought about it, I realized that she had a lot of truth, that missionaries really are called of God, and have the authority to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, we are still working with her, and I hope that she will one day return to the church, it will take a lot of work, but that was what i have been called to do, to work with less active members, and to help all to come unto Christ.

And, another update on the good delicious food of Mexico, I love the food here, but this week, I had the oppurtunity to try something new, I got to try "tinga" it is delicious, it tastes so good, it is like shredded meat on a tortilla, with cream, and cheese, but different cream and different cheese than what there is Utah, but it is dang good, I think one of my new favorite foods of Mexico. The work of the Lord is progressing, I am grateful for the chance that I have to be a part of it, I know that I am only one man, but with the Lord`s help, all things are possible, and if I live the gospel of Jesus Christ, like what Carlos is now doing, all things that are good, I will receive, and that is the blessings that everyone needs, even if it takes time, it is always worth it. MExico is a different place, there is a lot of influence of the adversary, but I know that inside of me, and in the church, that the prescence of the spirit can be felt, and that is my light, my guide, and my help, and through this, all things are possible. Even if it`s difficult, which it is, I have had many trials on my mission, but i also know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the solution, I know that the atonement is real, and that everyone who needs it, can have it, it is available to alll and it is infinite, and powerful, this is my testimony and i share it with you in the name of Jesus Christ, amen

Also, another thing that was pretty cool about Carlos was that this week, we had an appointment with him, before he told us that he probabley couldn´t make it, we asked him

Tuesday, January 1, 2013

Hello everyone, this week, has honestly been one of the best weeks of my mission, and I´m about to tell you why. Remember Carlos, I think I told you a little bit about him before, he will be baptized this saturday! WE put a date for his baptism this week, he is one of the best investigators I have ever found, he is alredy sharing the gospel with his friends and family. In fact, from Carlos, he told us that his son is interested in the gospel, so we started to teach him, it was a little different though, because we were teaching in english! My english, if you can´t already tell, has gotten worse, it is difficult for me to talk in english haha, but the two lessons that we have had with Carlos son have been so good, and in english, what is cool to me, is that the gospel message is the same in every langueage, I could still feel the spirit in the lesson, and it was awesome.

Also, another thing that was pretty cool about Carlos was that this week, we had an appointment with him, before he told us that he probabley couldn´t make it, we asked him why, an dhe told us it was because he had pain in his hip. So, my companion and I sent him a message asking him if he had faith. he said yes, and we explained about the priesthood, how he could receive a blessing and that it would help him to be healed. he told us taht he had faith, and we went and were able to give hima blessing, and he told us that he felt better afterward, and that it helped him to be able to deal with the pain. It was an awesome experience, the power of the priesthood is real, and we are going to baptize him this Saturday! I´m so excited! He is going to be such a strong member of the churc.

Another thing that has been cool this week, is that people have been contacting us, usually this doesn´t happen. But yeah, we found 3 members that aren´t registered in the ward that contacted us, that want to return to the church, and we were able to have a lesson with them, and dedicate their home, it was pretty awesome. The church is growing here, little by little, there are like 20 million people here in teh city, and I always think how cool it would be if all of the people were members. And, today, we were walking to an appointment, and someone was actually following us, we didn´t know it, but he had been running to try and catch us, he saw us from far away, and he told us that he was a member and the he needed our help, he hadn´t gone to church in a long time, and so we began to talk, and me and my companion shared some scriptures from the book of mormon, and he actually was about to cry, because he was feeling the spirt, and then we gave him our number, and he left. But it was cool because we were in the right place, at the right time, and he was too. I hope that this member returns to the church, but it was a cool experience.

Also, I can´t believe that the new year is about to start, I´ve been in the mission for like 6 months now, and it has gone by so fast! It´s awesome, though. The food here for the Navidad or for Christmas was delicious. There is a tradicional food called bacalo(or something like that) that is kind of like tuna fish with nuts and chile peppers, soudns gross, but it is really good, and romeritos(meat stuff, I don´t know how to describe, but google does, and it is really good) and some other food, that I don´t remember, but it was good. I am so excited to be here in this area, in the lord´s work at this time, I know this is where I was meant to go, and the church is true, the atonement is real, the work is progressing forward, And I am so thankful for your thoughts and prayers on my behalf. I hope that everyone has a happy new year and takes the time to reflect and evaluate what to do better next year. That´s all for now, more next week,

Love, Elder Limb

P.S. The son of Carlos already told us he wants to be baptized, it´s pretty awesome, 26th of january, I´m excited, and next week is transfers, so i will let you know where I will be, maybe I will stilll be here in Nativitas, but the mission address, to write letters is always the same. I´m so grateful for the tender mercies of teh Lord, and I have felt many miracles, I wish I mad more time to tell you guys all of them, but that´s all the time I´ve got, hasta la proxima semana
